Located at 2529 J.O. Stephenson Avenue, the City of Kennesaw Municipal Court holds its sessions at 2 PM on Tuesday of each week in the Council Chambers of City Hall. The City Solicitor is R. Randall Bentley Sr., and the Chief Judge is the Honorable Luke Mayes IV.
As with other city or municipal courts, Kennesaw Municipal Court handles all city ordinances as well as state misdemeanor violations. Crimes like shoplifting of items $500 or less in value, and misdemeanor marijuana possession of less than an ounce can be handled in the city court either by plea or a non-jury trial (aka “bench trial”). Serious traffic misdemeanors like Driving Under the Influence may be resolved, too. But, if one wants a jury trial on a state misdemeanor violation, your case will be bound up to Cobb County State Court off Marietta Square.
Attorney Alan J. Levine regularly practices in Kennesaw Municipal Court. He maintains good working relationships with the court staff, prosecutors and judges. If you have a criminal matter before the court there and need legal assistance, please don’t hesitate to contact him at 770-870-4994. Or contact him through this website. Consultations are free, and you may find that you don’t need the services of lawyer. But if you do, former prosecutor and judge Alan J. Levine is ready to fight for you.
